Yupangco Music Corporation and Yamaha Corporation Japan has recently held its ASIAN BEAT BAND COMPETITION - PHILIPPINE FINALS 2007 at A Venue Events Hall in Makati Avenue last December 15, 2007.
Eight (8) bands, who won in the regionals finals (Manila, Cebu and Davao) gathered together to compete for the Philippine Finals:
Kadangyan (Manila) Pancake 80 (Manila) Pnutz (Cavite) Haze (Manila) Dalandan Soda (Manila) Nacls (Manila) Day 7 (Davao) Pitch Melba (Cebu)
Each band showed their unique and expressive performances in different music genres such as alternative, ethnic rock, ska, reggae/hip-hop and pop. Our panel of judges came from various field of music: Mr. Takao Suzuki - Vice President of Yupangco Music Corporation Mr. Takashi Fujita - Marketing Manager, Yamaha Corporation Japan Mr. Delfin Visperas - Lead Guitarist of Datu's Tribe Mr. Tonet Lipana - Lead Guitarist of Rage Band Mr. Jun Jun Perez - Session Bassist/Drummer Before announcing the winner, guest band Datu's Tribe, rendered an energetic rock performance. Ultimately, the NACLS band won received P100,000 worth of cash and product prizes. They will represent the Philippines for the Asian Beat Grand Finals in Taipei, Taiwan on March 9, 2008. Congratulations to NACLS Band !!!
The Asian Beat Band Competition-Philippine Finals 2007 is jointly sponsored by Yamaha Music Store, Perfect Pitch Strore, Del Monte Philippines, Pulp Magazine, NSS Nice Skates Shoes, Regines Condominium, Summit Drinking Water, Sennheiser Microphones and Sabian Cymbals. |
